Sampath Bank and GV Auto Partner to Promote Electric Vehicle Adoption in Sri Lanka

Sampath Bank PLC has entered into a strategic partnership with GV Auto, a brand of Gavinro International (Pvt) Ltd., to make electric vehicle (EV) ownership more accessible to customers across Sri Lanka.

The partnership was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Sampath Bank’s Head Office. Under the agreement, customers purchasing eligible electric vehicles from GV Auto will benefit from a 0.5 percentage-point reduction on Sampath Bank’s published vehicle loan interest rate, providing more attractive financing options for prospective EV buyers.

GV Auto is positioning itself as a one-stop electric mobility provider, offering a range of transportation solutions, including the Skywell BE11 premium electric SUV and Keyton commercial electric vehicles. The company also provides after-sales support aimed at enhancing the ownership experience.

By combining Sampath Bank’s customer-focused financial solutions with GV Auto’s expanding EV portfolio and support network, the partnership seeks to encourage greater adoption of sustainable transportation in Sri Lanka.

The initiative is expected to provide customers with improved affordability while supporting the transition towards cleaner and potentially more cost-efficient mobility solutions. It also reflects the growing collaboration between financial institutions and the automotive sector in promoting environmentally responsible transportation alternatives.

The agreement was exchanged by Mr. Abeeth Dangalla, Managing Director of Gavinro International (Pvt) Ltd., and Mr. Darshin Pathinayake, Chief Business Intelligence Officer of Sampath Bank PLC, in the presence of representatives from both organisations.
