Sri Lanka FinTech Summit 2026 Announced to Drive Regional Digital Finance Growth
The Asia FinTech Network (AFTN) has announced the Sri Lanka FinTech Summit 2026, scheduled to take place on 16 and 17 September 2026. Positioned as Sri Lanka’s premier national platform for financial technology, the summit aims to accelerate the country’s digital finance transformation and strengthen its position as an emerging FinTech hub in South Asia.
The two-day summit will bring together key stakeholders from across the financial and technology ecosystem, including government policymakers, central bank representatives and regulators, commercial banks, global investors, development partners, technology companies and FinTech innovators.
Designed as a platform where policy, capital, technology and innovation converge, the Sri Lanka FinTech Summit 2026 is expected to become one of the country’s largest financial technology gatherings. Organisers anticipate the participation of more than 500 delegates representing over 25 countries, alongside more than 75 industry experts and thought leaders.
The event will feature a diverse programme comprising keynote presentations, panel discussions and closed-door roundtables focused on shaping the future of financial services and contributing to national and regional policy conversations. The summit will also provide opportunities for market engagement through startup showcases, technology demonstrations, investment forums and business networking sessions.
The announcement comes at a significant time for Sri Lanka’s financial sector, as the country continues to advance its digital transformation agenda. With a long history as a strategic trading hub, Sri Lanka is now increasingly focused on strengthening its position within South Asia’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
The country’s FinTech ecosystem is supported by several key developments, including the National Instant Payments Platform, the expansion of the LankaQR merchant network, and the introduction of frameworks supporting Digital KYC, electronic signatures and national digital identity initiatives. Progress in areas such as open banking, API-based financial services and central bank-led exploration of digital currency solutions is also contributing to the sector’s continued evolution.
These developments are creating new opportunities across multiple areas of financial technology, including FinTech, RegTech, InsurTech and WealthTech, while encouraging greater collaboration between local businesses, international investors and technology providers.
Through the Sri Lanka FinTech Summit 2026, industry stakeholders will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, explore emerging technologies, build strategic partnerships and identify investment opportunities that can support the next phase of Sri Lanka’s digital financial transformation.
The summit is expected to play an important role in strengthening collaboration across the regional FinTech ecosystem and positioning Sri Lanka as a competitive destination for innovation, investment and technology-driven financial services.
