GASL Invites Sri Lanka’s Gem and Jewellery Industry to Showcase Expertise at JEWELS 2026

Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery industry is set to gain an important international platform with the upcoming JEWELS 2026 International Gem & Jewellery Exhibition & Competition, scheduled to be held from 4 to 6 December 2026 at the Colombo Lotus Tower.

Organised by the Gemmologists Association of Sri Lanka (GASL) under the theme “From Sri Lanka to the World,” the three-day event is expected to bring together a diverse group of industry stakeholders, including gem dealers, jewellery manufacturers, designers, gemmologists, educators and emerging businesses.

JEWELS has evolved significantly since its beginnings as a mineral show in 2002. The event was rebranded as JEWELS in 2008 and has since developed into a comprehensive platform that promotes trade, education, craftsmanship, professional competition and broader industry development.

GASL President Mrs. Chathurangani Arthanayaka highlighted the importance of the event in showcasing Sri Lanka’s long-standing gem and jewellery heritage while recognising the creativity, skills and innovation of the country’s contemporary industry.

Meanwhile, GASL President-Elect and JEWELS 2026 Chairman Mr. Shehan Daulagala noted that the exhibition will provide businesses with opportunities to showcase their capabilities, establish connections with potential markets and build valuable relationships within the industry.

A key feature of JEWELS 2026 will be the JEWELS Competition, which will complement the exhibition by recognising professional excellence while promoting education and industry standards.

The event is expected to provide participating businesses with opportunities to engage directly with customers, strengthen brand visibility and gain exposure to both local and international audiences. GASL is therefore encouraging companies and professionals across the gem and jewellery sector to secure their exhibition stalls early and take advantage of the opportunities offered by the event.

With Sri Lanka’s reputation as a leading source of exceptional gemstones and its long-established jewellery craftsmanship, JEWELS 2026 aims to further connect the country’s industry with international markets while celebrating its heritage and future potential.
