LEVEL UP 2.0 Highlights Imperial College’s Commitment to Professional Growth in Kandy
Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS) successfully concluded LEVEL UP 2.0 – The Next Million Mind-set on September 9, 2026, at Kandy Myst by Cinnamon, bringing together more than 120 professionals, business leaders and emerging talent for an evening focused on wealth creation, career development, continuous learning and personal growth.
Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2024, LEVEL UP 2.0 has evolved into a platform that goes beyond inspiration, offering participants practical industry insights, meaningful professional dialogue and valuable networking opportunities.
Held under the theme “Building Wealth. Careers. Futures.”, the event featured three prominent industry professionals who explored investment from different perspectives.
Tharindra Gooneratne, Head of Business – Fixed Broadband and International Services at Dialog Axiata PLC, shared insights from his corporate and international investment banking experience, highlighting approaches to wealth creation and the importance of informed financial decision-making.
The discussion then shifted towards personal development, with Stephanie Siriwardhana, Director at Infinite Grace Works (Pvt) Ltd, focusing on the importance of investing in oneself. Her session explored personal branding, purpose and the deliberate development of personal capabilities alongside professional growth.
The keynote sessions concluded with Dr. Niroshan J. Pieris, Cluster CEO at LAUGFS Gas PLC and a member of the ICBS postgraduate lecturing panel. Drawing on his corporate leadership and academic experience, he highlighted the importance of career investment, mentorship and continuous learning. He also emphasised the need for professionals to remain adaptable, continuously strengthen their capabilities and stay relevant in an evolving business environment.
The keynote sessions were followed by an interactive panel discussion moderated by Tharindu Wijewardhana, Country Head of AICPA & CIMA Sri Lanka. The session provided participants with an opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and gain practical perspectives from their professional experiences.
Beyond the formal sessions, LEVEL UP 2.0 provided a valuable networking environment where professionals from different industries could exchange ideas, establish connections and build meaningful relationships. The initiative reflects ICBS’s broader commitment to creating professional development opportunities that extend beyond traditional classroom-based education.
Established in 1985, Imperial College of Business Studies has continued to focus on developing professionals through internationally recognised education and strong engagement with industry. Initiatives such as LEVEL UP demonstrate the institution’s emphasis on equipping professionals not only with academic qualifications, but also with industry exposure, confidence, knowledge and professional networks.
With the successful conclusion of LEVEL UP 2.0, ICBS continues to position professional education as an experience strengthened by industry interaction, diverse perspectives, continuous learning and meaningful professional connections.
