Adikted Brings Bold, Homegrown Street Food Flavours to Colombo

Colombo’s dynamic food scene welcomes a new homegrown concept as Adikted officially opens the doors to its flagship outlet at 262, Nawala Road, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, bringing an exciting take on street food that combines bold flavours, quality ingredients and accessible pricing.

The concept originated in 2024 with a vision to create flavour-packed street food without compromising on quality or affordability. Following years of development, refinement and menu experimentation, Adikted has now entered Colombo’s competitive food and beverage sector with a menu built around familiar favourites with an adventurous twist.

At the heart of the concept are burgers and submarines, which serve as the foundation for a menu designed to push traditional street-food flavours further. The offering includes crispy chicken burgers, submarines, vegetarian options, loaded fries, nuggets and a selection of beverages.

Adikted is the latest venture from the entrepreneurs behind Street Burger, a well-known homegrown food brand that entered Colombo’s food scene in 2016. Street Burger began as a food truck along Marine Drive before expanding into restaurants, building a reputation for gourmet burgers infused with distinctly Sri Lankan flavours.

Drawing on nearly a decade of experience in the local food industry, the team behind Adikted has developed the new brand with a focus on speed, affordability, consistency and quality.

“Adikted began as an idea to offer fresh gourmet burgers at affordable pricing and is a concept that has been many years in the making. What marks it is its emphasis on speed and affordability without compromising on quality,” said Tharique Shibly, Co-founder of Adikted and Street Burger. He added that the brand aims to contribute to the continued development of Sri Lanka’s food culture while building on the team’s extensive industry experience.

According to Masoon Samoon, Co-founder of Adikted and Street Burger, the brand places strong emphasis on freshness and made-to-order preparation.

“With fresh ingredients that are sourced daily and with every item made to order, food lovers in Colombo can expect a casual but elevated dining experience,” Samoon said.

The flagship outlet has been designed with a spacious dining area and operates for extended hours, catering to customers looking for convenient and satisfying meals throughout the day.

Beyond its physical outlet, Adikted has also been developed with scalability in mind and follows a franchise-oriented business model, creating opportunities for the concept to expand its presence across Sri Lanka and potentially beyond.

The brand is currently open at 262, Nawala Road, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, with takeaway and delivery available exclusively through Uber Eats.

With its combination of homegrown culinary expertise, accessible pricing and bold flavour profiles, Adikted aims to establish itself as a distinctive new player in Colombo’s evolving street-food landscape.
