South Asia’s Premier Textile & Garment Manufacturing Platform Opens in Colombo .
Colombo, August 5: South Asia’s premier textile sourcing and garment manufacturing technology exhibition, Intex–InMac Sri Lanka 2026, officially opened today at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), marking another milestone in strengthening Sri Lanka’s position as a regional hub for the textile and apparel industry.
The three-day exhibition was inaugurated by Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Sunil Handunnetti, together with Industrial Development Board (IDB) Chairman Yasas Hewage, in the presence of industry leaders, international exhibitors, trade representatives, and government officials.
Organised from August 5 to 7, the exhibition has brought together more than 250 exhibitors representing over 15 countries and regions, making it Sri Lanka’s largest international platform dedicated to textile sourcing, garment manufacturing technologies, and industrial innovation.
Addressing the inauguration, IDB Chairman Yasas Hewage highlighted the importance of the event in advancing Sri Lanka’s industrial transformation. He noted that the Industrial Development Board remains committed to promoting innovation, strengthening local manufacturing capabilities, and creating new opportunities for businesses to expand and compete in international markets.
The Intex segment of the exhibition showcases a comprehensive range of textile products, including apparel fabrics, yarns, fibres, denim, knitted and woven materials, garment accessories, dyes, chemicals, digital textile printing solutions, and textile machinery components. Meanwhile, the InMac exhibition features the latest garment manufacturing technologies, including sewing and embroidery machines, automated cutting systems, dyeing and bleaching equipment, commercial laundry solutions, heat press machines, digital textile printing technologies, and factory automation systems.
The exhibition serves as a strategic meeting point for manufacturers, exporters, sourcing professionals, technology providers, and investors, fostering collaboration, business partnerships, and knowledge exchange across the global textile and apparel supply chain.
As Sri Lanka continues to strengthen its globally recognised apparel sector, Intex–InMac Sri Lanka 2026 is expected to further enhance sourcing opportunities, encourage technological advancement, and reinforce the country’s competitiveness in the international textile and garment manufacturing industry. The exhibition will continue until August 7 at BMICH, Colombo.
