Barista Marks Major Milestone with Opening of 100th Outlet in Sri Lanka

Barista Coffee Lanka has reached a significant milestone with the opening of its 100th outlet, further strengthening its position as one of Sri Lanka’s leading coffeehouse brands and expanding access to its world-class coffee experience across the island.

The company marked the achievement on 31 August 2026 with the opening of Barista Baseline, its 100th outlet. With a presence across 19 districts, the milestone reflects Barista’s continued growth and its commitment to making quality coffee experiences more accessible to both Sri Lankan customers and international visitors.

The opening celebration brought together the Board of Directors of Barista Coffee Lanka, franchise owners, customers, media representatives, influencers and members of the Barista team, recognising the collective contribution of the people who have supported the brand’s journey.

The achievement represents more than the expansion of the company’s outlet network. It reflects the growth, resilience and commitment that have enabled Barista to evolve from its early beginnings into a recognised café brand serving communities, cities and key destinations across Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the milestone, Dilupa Pathirana, Chief Executive Officer of Barista Coffee Lanka, said reaching 100 outlets was a significant and meaningful achievement for the entire organisation. He acknowledged the contribution of the company’s employees, franchise partners, stakeholders and customers, whose continued support has played an important role in Barista’s growth.

Barista’s vision has centred on ensuring that customers across Sri Lanka have access to a high-quality and world-class coffee experience. With its expanding presence across 19 districts, the company is also strengthening its ability to serve international travellers visiting and exploring different parts of the country.

The journey towards 100 outlets has been shaped by both growth and resilience. Like many businesses in Sri Lanka, Barista has navigated periods of uncertainty, changing consumer lifestyles, temporary disruptions and broader economic challenges. Despite these circumstances, the company continued to expand its operations with the support of its employees, franchise partners and customers.

As daily routines resumed, Barista outlets continued to serve as popular spaces for morning coffee, business meetings, social gatherings and moments of relaxation. The brand has also expanded into new cities, towns and travel destinations, enabling more customers to experience its café offering across different regions of the country.

The growing network also contributes to Sri Lanka’s evolving hospitality landscape by providing international visitors with access to a familiar and consistent café experience while travelling through major cities, cultural destinations, hill-country locations and coastal areas.

For Barista, the opening of its 100th outlet represents the collective efforts of the teams working behind every counter, the employees supporting daily operations, franchise partners and the customers who continue to make the brand part of their everyday lives.

With 100 outlets now operating across 19 districts, Barista Coffee Lanka enters the next phase of its journey with a continued focus on expanding accessibility, enhancing customer experiences and strengthening its presence across Sri Lanka.

As the brand continues to grow, Barista remains committed to its mission of “Brewing Happiness”, bringing its coffee experience closer to Sri Lankans and visitors from around the world, one cup at a time.
