Hayleys Mobility Limited has strengthened its presence in Sri Lanka’s growing new-energy vehicle market with the launch of the all-new JAECOO J5 HEV, further expanding its portfolio of premium hybrid SUVs. The introduction comes amid increasing consumer demand for fuel-efficient and environmentally conscious mobility solutions as the country’s automotive sector gradually shifts towards hybrid and electric vehicle technology.
The JAECOO J5 HEV combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine with an electric motor and Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, producing a combined output of 221 horsepower and 295 Nm of torque. The vehicle is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 7.9 seconds while maintaining fuel efficiency of 18.9 kilometres per litre. Hayleys Mobility says the hybrid SUV can travel more than 950 kilometres on a full tank, making it suitable for both urban commuting and long-distance travel.
The latest addition to the JAECOO range features a bold exterior design, LED lighting technology, and a premium cabin equipped with modern connectivity features and advanced driver-assistance systems. The vehicle has been positioned to appeal to customers seeking a balance between performance, efficiency, safety, and comfort.

Chief Executive Officer of Hayleys Mobility, Rajieve Fernando, highlighted the company’s focus on customer confidence, noting that the JAECOO J5 HEV is backed by a seven-year vehicle warranty and an eight-year battery warranty. The company believes these offerings will strengthen customer trust as hybrid vehicle adoption continues to increase across the country.

To mark the launch, the company has also announced a special introductory offer under which the first 100 customers will receive a discount of Rs. 1 million.
