ayleys Fentons emerged triumphant at the prestigious National Project Management Excellence Awards (NPME) Gala 2024, securing numerous accolades, including the coveted Overall Best Managed Project of the Year title.
Organized by the Project Management Institute of Colombo, Sri Lanka Chapter, the NPME Awards annually celebrate exemplary achievements in project management across diverse sectors.
The highlight of the evening was Hayleys Fentons’ Watchtower Solarisation Project, recognized as the Overall Best Managed Project of the Year. This groundbreaking initiative, which also clinched the Gold award for Best Managed Project in the Social Enterprise Sector, achieved energy independence through Sri Lanka’s largest Battery Energy Storage System integrated with a 322 kW solar power plant. This innovation ensures uninterrupted power supply for up to three days during outages.
In another feat, Hayleys Fentons secured the Gold award in the Green Outcome category for its commercial 2.3 MWh turnkey solar project at Texlan Centre. This project is projected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an impressive 46,370 tonnes of CO2 over its operational lifespan.
Further highlighting its prowess, Hayleys Fentons’ MEP Division earned the Gold award for Best Managed Project in Infrastructure Development. Their comprehensive scope of work in MEP, ELV, and fire protection for Aitken Spence Logistics’ Container Freight Station underscored their excellence in executing complex infrastructure projects.
Additionally, Hayleys Solar’s CSR initiative ‘Soorya Sathkara’, aimed at installing solar power systems in 200 care homes across Sri Lanka, received the Silver award in the Best Managed Project in Marketing and Advertising category. This initiative, supported by Sri Lankan cricketer Pathum Nissanka, garnered widespread acclaim for its impactful 360° marketing campaign.
In the realm of power and energy, Hayleys Fentons’ 1.56 MW solar project for Dipped Products PLC’s Kottawa manufacturing facility earned the Bronze award for project management excellence.
Reflecting on these achievements, Hayleys Fentons Managing Director Hasith Prematillake attributed their success to the team’s unwavering commitment to aligning project objectives with the broader needs of communities and businesses.
The NPME Awards reaffirm Hayleys Fentons’ position as a leader in project management excellence, setting benchmarks for innovation, sustainability, and community impact across Sri Lanka’s project landscape.
