he US Green Building Council has awarded LEED Gold Certification to Mireka Tower and Havelock City Mall, highlighting their commitment to energy efficiency and occupant well-being.
Achieving Gold certification under the LEED 2009 Core and Shell Development rating system, Mireka Tower and Havelock City Mall are exemplars of sustainability, showcasing the group’s leadership in transforming Sri Lanka’s building industry.
From the start, the project incorporated green features and design optimizations, ensuring top-tier environmental stewardship in both construction and operation.
Mireka Tower, a 50-story landmark in Colombo, represents sustainable architectural excellence. Adjacent to it, the five-story Havelock City Mall is a cutting-edge shopping complex. Both buildings share a central air-conditioning system with water-cooled electrical chillers, significantly reducing energy consumption while maintaining indoor comfort.
A high-performance building automation system (BAS) monitors and controls energy use throughout the complex, ensuring peak efficiency.
