Samsung Sri Lanka Recognises Retail Excellence at Retailer Summit 2026
Samsung Sri Lanka recently hosted its Retailer Summit 2026, bringing together retail partners from across the country to celebrate outstanding performance, strengthen long-standing partnerships and discuss future opportunities for growth. The two-day event brought together leading retailers associated with John Keells Office Automation (JKOA) and Softlogic Mobile Distribution (SMD), creating a platform for recognition, networking and collaboration.
More than 460 retailers, business partners and their families from across Sri Lanka, including representatives from Jaffna to Matara, attended the summit. The gathering highlighted the significant contribution of Samsung’s nationwide retail network to the company’s continued growth and presence in the Sri Lankan market.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the National Dealer Excellence Awards, which recognised the country’s leading Samsung retail partners for their exceptional sales performance. The top-performing dealers received commemorative awards along with a two-day, one-night stay at a luxury five-star hotel for themselves and their families.
The national awards recognised Buyzone Mobile (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo, as the Islandwide Rank 1 dealer; The SmartPhone Shop (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo, as Islandwide Rank 2; Celltronics (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo Metro, as Islandwide Rank 4; and Thilakawardhana Cellular, Gampaha, as Islandwide Rank 5. Samsung also honoured high-performing regional dealers across the country, recognising their contribution to expanding access to Samsung products and services in their respective markets.
The summit featured keynote speeches from Samsung Sri Lanka’s leadership, entertainment performances, interactive product demonstrations and networking opportunities. Retail partners were also introduced to Samsung’s Knox security solutions and Easy Payment plans, while the event provided an opportunity for retailers to exchange insights and engage directly with Samsung teams and industry peers.
Speaking at the event, SangHwa Song, Managing Director of Samsung Sri Lanka, emphasised the importance of the company’s retail partnerships, noting that the strength of Samsung’s brand in Sri Lanka is closely linked to the strength of its relationships with retailers. He further highlighted Samsung’s commitment to supporting partner growth as the company moves into an era shaped by Galaxy AI and connected ecosystems.
Meanwhile, Nuwan Ukwatte, Head of the Mobile eXperience (MX) Division at Samsung Sri Lanka, highlighted the company’s efforts to proactively respond to changing market conditions. He noted that Samsung, together with its retail partners, has transformed the way customers purchase smartphones in the general trade market while supporting business growth and helping reduce the impact of rising prices on both consumers and retailers.
The award recipients also acknowledged the importance of their partnerships with Samsung. Buyzone Mobile, which secured the top islandwide ranking, credited Samsung’s continued innovation and ecosystem for supporting its market leadership. The SmartPhone Shop highlighted the trust, mutual growth and technological innovation underpinning its relationship with Samsung, while Celltronics and Thilakawardhana Cellular similarly recognised the company’s ongoing support and product portfolio as key contributors to their growth.
The Samsung Retailer Summit 2026 ultimately served as more than an awards ceremony. It reinforced the company’s commitment to its retail and distribution partners while recognising the people and businesses contributing to Samsung’s success in Sri Lanka.
As Samsung continues to expand its portfolio of innovative products and connected technologies, the company and its nationwide retail network remain focused on strengthening partnerships, improving customer experiences and creating new opportunities for sustainable growth in the Sri Lankan market.
